U13 Stimpson

U13 Stimpson had a wonderful start to their morning. They were presented with their baggy blues and treated to some amazing stories and words of wisdom by their team namesake Kev ‘fountain of knowledge’ Stimpson! The caps were worn proudly throughout the morning and snippets of conversations overheard showed just how chuffed they all were with their new gear.

After winning the toss, Stimpson chose to bat first during what became a frustratingly slow run-scoring morning. Stand out batter of the day was Harrison with his big hit sailing over the opposition's heads for a very convincing 4 but, unfortunately after 21 overs we were all out for 51.

The other team padded up and we started well, getting 3 wickets in fairly quick succession. Our 4th wicket was a rollercoaster ride coming in an over bowled by one of our newer players, Jesse. His bowl forced the batter to knock to ball into the air straight to a waiting fielder who just let it slip through his fingers! Next bowl, there was another chance - this time the catch was completed, only for the umpire to call a No-Ball. Third time lucky, Jesse managed again to make the batter hit the ball into the air and this time straight into the capable hands of another one of our newest players, Darcy! We managed one more wicket this morning before time was called leaving the opposition at 5-120.

Congratulations to our MVPs this week - Harrison and Ruby!
