Match Reports

U10 - Schefe/Ryan

Life member Mrs Margaret Schefe and husband Errol came down to meet the team named in her honour. It was great to reconnect them to the club, celebrate her contribution to the club and make this important link to the past for our young players and their families.

Team Captain Max also presented Margaret with her special Life Members shirt.

U13 - Stimpson

U13 Stimpson were faced with a very wet pitch early this morning. As the sun warmed up the decision was to play and, after winning the toss, the opposition opted to bat first. There was a bit of slipping and sliding from our bowlers and fielders to start with but they soon got the measure of the pitch, banded together and fielded their best so far this season. Some stand out bowling, fielding and team encouragement from our MVP Eli this week! A few missed chances of catches and run outs across this morning and some disappointment when a couple of amazing catches were disallowed due to the bowling delivery but the team achieved some great run outs, catches and even a couple of 'Mankads', making it a very entertaining and enjoyable morning for all. We finished the morning having got the opposition all out for 9/262 and beginning our chase with 2/9.

U13 - Gower

A double up of significant events today at Langdon Park.

First it was introducing life member Kevin Gower Snr to his team.

Isaac presented Kevin with his life member shirt. Followed by some lovely words from Coach Darren, Kevin and Captain Isaac and a bit of wisdom from the president.

The second significant event was Zac, Connor and Callum with their baggy blue caps. Congratulations lads and thanks to Kevin for coming down. Also a big shout out to Darren for mopping up the wet pitch.

U15 - Divine

- Coming soon.

U15 - McDonald

Round 3 vs Gators, a quality batting side who have scored over 750 runs in the last 2 games. Playing on a narrow and wet track, Bodhi won the toss and sent them into bat. Noah and Bodhi opened bowling tight lines and beating the edge on numerous occasions. A wicket in the second over, followed by some good fielding for a run out in the 7th over and we had them 2/11. Noah was unlucky not to get a wicket (0/10 off 5) and managed to get one to edge behind only to be called for a front foot no-ball! We kept the pressure on, fielding well and holding catches. Rohan took a speccy fielding at short cover and Tyson backpedalled at square and Riley held 2 low down at 1st slip. While the game hung in the balance through the middle overs we held our nerve and rolled them for 237, thanks to a final wicket from Jamey in the dying minutes of the game and some really smart field settings from our captain Bodhi.

Half the job done, it’s up to our batters next week!

Bowling:

Tyson 4/22 off 7

Bodhi 1/14 off 5

Jamey 1/6 off 1.2

Matthys 0/7 off 5
