Match Reports

U15 - Devine

It was a muggy morning at Filmer Park. Noah was presented with his baggy blue cap before the the start of play by Neal (president) and Greg Devine (life member and team namesake).

The Cyclones won the toss and sent the Hawks into bat. This paid off quickly with a few quick wickets (2 from Cooper - one caught and bowled, 1 from Luka) getting the score to 3/19. The fourth batter for Albany Creek caused a few headaches by reaching the boundary consistently. Some great bowling by Rrithesh got the ball past the batter for a stumping. The batters after that didn't get an opportunity put on a big score due to some excellent bowling and fielding. The Albany Creek team were bowled out for 152 off only 35.3 overs. A great team effort in the field. This is an excellent outcome as the last time the Cyclones Devine team played this Hawks team they scored 177 from 46 overs, a definite improvement.

The Cyclones batting started well however after some confusion Oliver was run out. The day ended with the Cyclones at 2/26 after 11 overs with the batting looking strong. Lets bring it home next week.

Fielding Highlights:

  • Charlie and Cooper both took 2 catches.

  • Cooper, Luka and Abhi all took 2 wickets.

  • Wickets were taken by 7 bowlers all up with Noah getting his first ever wicket.

  • Our two spinners heavily restricted the batters with Isaac 4 overs-10 runs and Oliver 3 overs-4 runs.
