U15 - Divine
The U15 Divine team were very privileged to have their namesake Life Member #25 Greg Divine on hand to watch their first day of season 2023-2024. It was a shaky start but the team worked their way to a score of all out for 94. A highlight was Charlie's top score of 31 off 44 balls. The Valley Maroons were put into bat with an immediate impact of a Cooper run out taking the score to 1/1. At the end of the first day the Valley team finished with 4/86.
U15 - McDonald
A great start to the season today team. Was great to do the traditional presentation of the baggy blues to our new club players Jamey, Riley, Tyson, Harry and Arya - welcome to the club. Today was Bodhi’s first game as captain and he did a great job handing out the baggies, losing the toss and navigating the team to a solid position on Day 1. It was a tough first session after losing the toss and being thrown the ball. Albany Creek came out of the blocks in the first session but we fought back in the second session with 5 wickets and slowed the run rate. All out for 174 and Jake and Cooper put on a valuable unbeaten 44 off 10 overs to set us up nicely for Day 2. A few special mentions for today - Jake taking a screamer at mid wicket (full flight), Tyson with some really tidy leg spin, Arya with a fingertips catch at square leg and Cooper with a stumping, runout and sharp catch behind the the stumps. Well done all, a great team effort.
